Sanjay loves action more
Sanjay Dutt is on a high. After the staggering success of Agneepath, he will be seen again onscreen, this time in a Ram Gopal Varma venture titled Department. This is his second film with Ramu after the debacle of Daud way back in 1997. Department will see him return to the cop’s gear and share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan. Speaking of his character, Sanjay says, “I play a cop, Mahadev, who is bored of the system. He knows that after his current assignment he will not enjoy much power, so he wants to bank upon his position. He is a corrupt police officer.”
Sanjay, who has dabbled with comedy, admits enjoying action roles more. “Comedy can be difficult,” he says. “It’s all about getting the timing right. But I’d say action is something I enjoy doing. And since Department is full of stunts, I had a great time filming it.” Sanjay’s his tumultuous journey in Bollywood has taught him a lot. “I have learnt to take criticism in the right spirit and success doesn’t go to my head. Also, earlier I’d take decisions from my heart, but now I think about every step,” he says.
