Sanju’s dream project derailed
It has practically been Sanjay Dutt’s dream for the last five years to ensure his project Bihaad sees the light of day.
But despite Sanju’s best efforts, it’s looking like it may get shelved after all. In fact, adding salt to Sanju’s wounds, another filmmaker is going ahead with a film by the same title and even getting it readied it for release.
“Sanjay wanted to revive Sunil Dutt’s banner Ajanta Arts with this film. It was supposed to be directed by Milan Luthria, and Ajay Devgn and Vidya Balan were supposed to star in it, but it somehow never went on the floors,” says a source. They wanted to shoot the film in the jungles of Madhya Pradesh but it never kicked off. “Milan then worked with Vidya in The Dirty Picture, and nobody heard of Bihaad ever again.”
However, now a film with the same title is being released by Krishna Mishra, which could come as a kick to the gut for Sunju. “It’s now looking like Sanju’s Bihaad has been shelved,” the source adds.
Krishna’s Bihaad, meanwhile, is also said to be set in the jungles and badlands of the country’s rustic interiors. “It would be very realistic as well, as it features a real life daaku Maan Singh, who’s playing himself,” says a source attached to the film.
