Shah Rukh ropes in Priyamani

He may be a reigning superstar himself, but Shah Rukh Khan has always liked working with newcomers in the film industry. Buzz is that he has roped in Kerala actress Priyamani for an item number in his next film Chennai Express, directed by Rohit Shetty.

Confirming the rumours, actress Priyamani says, “Yes, it’s true that I will be doing an item number for Chennai Express. I consider myself extremely lucky to have someone like Shah Rukh give me such a huge break.” The South actress, who is aware of the intensely competitive industry that is Bollywood, doesn’t want to waste the golden opportunity. “I need to prove that I can be better than a Bollywood actress,” says an ambitious Priyamani.
As of now, she doesn’t want to speculate the results of her foray into Bollywood. She says, “I don’t want to think of the outcome right now. I only want to ensure that I do my best. The rest, I am going to leave it to luck.”
Insiders say that SRK is being a thorough mentor to Priyamani, just like he was to Deepika Padukone during Om Shanti Om. Wonder if that makes Dippy a wee bit jealous.
