Shahana plays a beach bomb

Art house favourite, Shahana Goswami, who was appreciated for her role in Rock On is now part of the upcoming romantic caper Break Ke Baad. The director Danish Aslam was absolutely confident about his choice of casting Shahana in the film. He says, “Shahana is a brilliant actress who can play any role she likes. I am a huge fan of hers.” Well, that helps.

And unlike her serious roles in Firaaq and Rock on, her role here is very different. She even had a kind of image makeover where she sports dreadlocks and tattoos. Aslam says, “She plays Nadia, a very strong and outspoken character. Yudishtir and Shahana have this house on an island where Imran and Deepika come and live in. She is like the big boss of that house. She is a complete beach bomb. She sports dreadlocks, has four to five tattoos on her and wears short skirts and tops.” Well, art or commercial cinema, we don’t know many actresses who will sport dreadlocks for a role, even if they sport tattoos in real life.
