Shahid eyes a festive BO

Even as the Khans fight it out for the Eid, Diwali and Christmas release slots at the box office, Shahid Kapoor has managed to sneak in and create a slot of his own. And he is eyeing the festival of Dussehra no less, what with his Namak pitched for release next year.
“This is unprecedented for a film starring an actor who doesn’t feature among the top five in B’town. These slots are occupied by actors who have been in the business for 20 years or more, like the Khans, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and more recently, Hrithik Roshan,” a trade expert said.
Shahid’s move has good backing from Namak director Prabhu Deva. And the buzz is that if Namak is a success, Shahid will ensure that a film of his hits the screens every Dussehra. Nothing quite packs the same punch as a holiday release!
