She’s got the looks, and the language

Of late, most of Bollywood’s high-profile “imports” haven’t exactly enjoyed a smooth run, what with critics trashing their performances (think Nargis Fakhri and Amy Jackson). But Esha Gupta, Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt’s find, may just prove the exception. For one, unlike her predecessors, she speaks fluent Hindi.
“Nargis and Amy had to have their voices dubbed by professional artistes, but the Bhatts claim that Esha is the ‘complete package’, not least because she is mouthing her own dialogues,” says a source from the Jannat 2 team in which Esha marks her debut.
“Her language skills are a huge asset,” says Mukesh Bhatt. “Otherwise aaj kal ki young ladkiyon ko theek se hindustani bhi nahi aati hai (today’s young girls don’t even know proper Hindustani).”
