Sibling rivalry? No, thanks!
Parineeti Chopra’s career graph just keeps going up. Yesterday’s release, Ishaqzaade, has only just reinforced what many in the industry have long predicted: Priyanka Chopra’s little sister is the new big star on the horizon. So much so that Priyanka herself is said to be insecure about the younger sibling’s successes.
Parineeti, however, has had enough of these idle speculations. Jumping to her PC1’s (Priyanka) defence, PC2 (Parineeti) says the two are still great friends. “Honestly, there is no stress between us,” she says with vehemence. “Nobody who’s commenting about my relationship with her knows exactly what it’s like between us. And I don’t intend giving clarifications about it either.”
What’s more, she says, there’s no question of there being any sibling rivalry either, as the kind of films they are offered and the stars they work with are also vastly different. “Not just different actors, they are of a different age bracket altogether,” she says.
In fact, had it not been for PC1, she probably wouldn’t have become an actor at all. “I never wanted to be an actor. There was once a time when I looked down upon acting and the whole business of movie making altogether; I wanted to become a banker. It was Priyanka who pulled me up for my condescending attitude towards showbiz,” she says.
