Siddharth to take on Ranbir next?

Bollywood is known for its dramatic twists, both on and off screen, and this one adds one more to the number. It appears that Siddharth Malhotra is poised to take on superstar Ranbir Kapoor. Siddharth’s next, The Villain (provisional title), will be pitted against Ranbir’s Roy on June 20, 2014.
“In all fairness, it was Roy that was announced for release first. However, Balaji is now opening up their film calendar for next year and has declared bringing The Villain on the same date,” informs a source. The film is being helmed by Mohit Suri of Aashiqui 2 fame. “One wonders if the decision has been taken after major speculations about Ranbir’s role in Roy being a supporting role,” the source adds. Ironically, for Mohit Suri it would be a precarious situation, as he would be directly taking on Bhushan Kumar, producer of Roy, who financed Aashiqui 2. It would now be interesting to see if this clash between two actors extends to the one between a producer and director as well. Or will there be someone who blinks first?
