SLB makes Akki play Gabbar

Team Rowdy Rathore is back with their next venture titled Gabbar. The film, that is a remake of Tollywood blockbuster Ramanna, will be produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and feature Akshay Kumar in the title role. SLB has roped in one of the most popular directors in the South, Krish to helm the project.

With super hit Telugu films such as Gamyam and Vedam in his portfolio, Krish has a box office record very few can boast about. Gabbar will be his Bollywood directorial debut.
The film will also be co-produced by Sanjay’s close friend Shabinaa Khan, who he had also partnered with for Rowdy Rathore. “The creative team is working on the pre-production aspect. Since it’s a remake, most of the detailing is sorted. Sanjay wants to commence shoot of Gabbar as soon as he winds up Ram Leela,” say sources close to SLB.
