Small budget, big success
When they worked together, they had big budget films like Elaan and Aetbaar come their way, but John Abraham and Vikram Bhatt didn’t really taste any success with those. But this last week, they both had hits as producers, incidentally with small budget ventures, i.e.: Vicky Donor and Hate Story respectively.
“Vicky Donor, made on a shoestring budget, was John’s baby steps into production. Not only has he earned money with this, but also respect and standing as a filmmaker,” says a trade analyst.
Meanwhile, for his Elaan and Aetbaar director Vikram, shock value has again delivered results. “He’s following the Mahesh Bhatt policy of films with strong content at a reasonable price,” says an insider.
