Sore throat kills PC’s live act

Priyanka Chopra is on an all time high. The actress is not only celebrating the release of her film Barfi but also the launch of her single In My City featuring Will.I.Am. And in the euphoria of her double celebration, the actress-turned-singer says she would love to see her Bollywood rivals dance to her tunes.

“To have other actresses dance to my songs would be interesting,” she said at the launch of her single on Thursday.
The launch was organised at the last minute thing ahead of her peppy single’s release at the NFL on Thursday night. Everyone at the audience was expecting to hear the actress perform live, but the performance had to be cancelled after PC complained of a sore throat.
“All the talking and interviews for Barfi have affected my voice. I can not sing tonight,” she said. The actress, however, didn’t refute the idea of performing live in the future.
So is she contractually-bound not to sing before the NFL gala? Or is it an excuse to avoid any media scrutiny ahead of the event? It is after all an acknowledged fact that very often great studio singers can barely hit a note right when performing live.
