A spy thriller on the anvil for John

After making an impact with Madras Cafe, John Abraham deserves to take it easy. Instead, the actor-producer is aggressively pursuing his production plans.
While he is all set to begin work as a producer-actor on a high-octane action film with Nishikant Kamat, there is also preliminary work being done for another film, which has, interestingly, been titled J-39.
“From the title, this one sounds like a spy thriller in the offing. However, John is currently playing his cards close to his chest. He isn’t revealing much about the project since it is still some distance away,” said a source close to John.
What we do know is that the film is being pitched as a roller-coaster ride of both action and comedy, and that the script has been developed by newcomer Arshad Sayeed.
“It isn’t clear if Arshad himself will be calling the shots for J-39 since he has already been roped in as the director for another project,” our source shared.
John confirmed the news when we contacted him, but didn’t divulge details.
