Sridevi’s artistic inspiration

When Sridevi sold her paintings recently at Christie’s, it was widely-reported. But what is not known is that Salman was the inspiration for Sridevi to take up painting again. During the shooting of Wanted, which was produced by Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor, Salman gifted Sridevi his paintings. It was then that he reminded her that she was a good painter herself and that she should consider reviving the art.

Boney reveals, “During her earlier days, Sridevi would sketch and paint a lot. But after marriage, she gave it up. Salman, who knew about it, reminded her to take up painting again. She got back to painting and her works were so good that we realised we could exhibit them.”
In fact Sridevi and Salman started bonding over paintings once again. Sridevi was then invited by Salman to have a look at his paintings. “Salman wanted to auction his paintings for the Being Human Foundation but when Sridevi said that she liked one of his paintings, he gifted them to her,” adds Boney.
Sridevi, who is a big fan of Michael Jackson, recently painted the late pop legend and studded his painted glove with real crystals like MJ is known to have sported.
