SRK credits all his success to Hema
In these days of star rivalries and cut-throat competition, it’s refreshing to see actors taking time out for each other. Especially so when their own films’ release date is round the corner. But it’s because of things like these that we know him as King Khan.
Shah Rukh, neck deep busy with Ra.One’s promotions, took time out to make an appearance at the music launch of Hema Malini’s Tell Me O Kkhuda. Surprising, given that the film releases practically the same day as his own magnum opus.
Crediting Hema Malini as the person who gave him his first break, SRK says, “When I was in Delhi, I got a call from Hemaji’s neice, calling on Hemaji’s behalf. When I came to Mumbai, I first went to Hemaji’s house, and she told me she would like to cast me in her film Dil Aashna Hai. When I asked her the reason, she said ‘Your nose is very aristocratic’.”
Adding that Hema Malini guided him through his career, SRK says, “There have been many mistakes I made; so many times I went wrong. One person who really guided me everytime I made a mistake was Hemaji.”
Still grateful for all the help she provided him, SRK adds, “Whenever Allah miyan calls me to his abode, she is the one person I would thank because she has made me everything that I am. She doesn’t realise this because I don’t meet her and spend time with her, but every happiness I, my wife and my children have is because of her.”
