Sunny’s erratic schedules cost Bhushan a bomb
It was Bhushan Kumar’s dream project with an unusual star cast. A film starring Sunny Deol and Kangna Ranaut, I Love New Year was supposed to be released sometime in August. The makers had even released a few songs of the film earlier this year. But things came to a halt after the debacle of Yamla Pagla Deewana 2. Apparently the film went over budget due to Sunny’s erratic schedules while he tried to juggle between the two shoots. The actor, who has quite a reputation for being whimsical, failed to make it to the shoots that took place in New York, and this made Bhushan incur huge losses.
“Despite that, he completed the film and hoped to recover the money. But since the costs have gone overboard, no distributor wants to buy the film. Bhushan can release the film on his own, but investing more money in a film that is already in the lurch may not make too much business sense,” says a source.
That is probably why Bhushan has decided to let the film be for now. There is also speculation that the film may never see the light of day. Incidentally, Sunny’s home productions Ghayal and The Man too have been lying in the cans for similar reasons.
