Sweet sixteen? Not so for Ekta

We’re sure you must’ve heard of the saying “the third time’s the charm”, but for Ekta Kapoor, it’s the 16th attempt that proved lucky. We’re talking about Ekta’s recent tussle with the censor board to get a U/A certificate for her film Kya Super Cool Hain Hum.
Now everyone knows that Kya Cool Hain Hum was a sex comedy that worked wonders at the box office. Determined to ensure that its sequel garnered an even more impressive showing, Ekta decided to make it compatible with a U/A certificate. However, it was impossible to avoid the risqué and one particular scene ran afoul of the censors time and again. It was sent back to Ekta 15 times, forcing her to take matters into her own hands.
“Ekta sat down at the editing table personally and toned down the scene, and this time, when it was sent to the censor board, they didn’t have any objections,” her spokesperson divulged. Sixteenth time lucky indeed!
