Tanuja to direct Sharman next
Tanuja Chandra is all set to return to direction after a long hiatus of six years. The last film she had made was Zindagi Rocks in 2006 with Sushmita Sen and Shiney Ahuja. After the film bombed at the box office, it seemed Tanuja had gone off on an indefinite sabbatical. A source says, “It was the lack of good scripts that was keeping her away from the arc lights.”
But now, buzz is that the director has signed Ferrari Ki Sawaari actor Sharman Joshi for her next film, which is supposedly a romantic comedy. Confirming the news, Sharman said, “Yes, I have just signed the film. I won’t be able to divulge more details about this but the project is definitely on.”
Tanuja, who is known for her woman-centric films such as Dushman and Sangharsh will be foraying into a lighter genre for the first time. It will be interesting to say what the unconventional director-actor duo will have to offer.
