Team over role for Anil

One might think that a chance to portray the challenging role of dreaded gangster Manya Surve would be enough to make Anil Kapoor leap at the offer of Shootout At Wadala.

However, Anil says it wasn’t the role, but the film’s team comprising Ekta Kapoor and Sanjay Gupta, which was the deciding factor. The actor explains, “Whenever I have done a film, I have always looked at who the film’s producer and director are, the film’s script and its overall star cast. I feel that a character alone can never make a film work. The way, Sanjay and Ekta are trying to make this film attracted me even more than the role.”
