Telecast trouble a warning tale

With The Dirty Picture running into telecast trouble on the tube, and subsequently, not raking in the hoped for revenue, other filmmakers seem to have taken the episode as a cautionary tale.

Thus, Tigmanshu Dhulia’s sequel to Sahib, Biwi and Gangster will tone down considerably on its EQ (erotica quotient). We hear that the film’s team took a joint decision to tamp down on the sizzle sequences just so the film doesn’t face any hurdles when its satellite rights are up for sale.
This is in marked contrast to the considerable intimacy that the lead characters of the original Sahib, Biwi… engaged in. “It isn’t just the satellite telecast that the makers have in mind. Even from the content perspective, they now feel that it would be in the film’s better interest to focus primarily on drama,” a source in the know revealed.
