Time to shrug off desi beauty tag

Sonakshi Sinha seems to be feeling the heat keeping up with the rest of Bollywood’s leading ladies. Taking a cue from Katrina and Kareena’s ultra-glam avatars, we hear the Sinha girl has hired a team of top-notch designers and stylists to make her look her glamorous best for her dual characterisation in Son of Sardar.

Industry pundits point out that Sona has enjoyed the desi beauty tag ever since she broke onto the Bollywood scene with Dabangg. But now, she’s desperately looking for a makeover. The reason: In Son of Sardar, Sona’s character experiences a complete transformation in the second half of the film. Sona’s said to be ecstatic at the chance to showcase her glamorous side.
“I’m looking forward to the new look,” Sona enthuses, countering the statement that she’s always been known for her ethnic look and style with an “it tends to get monotonous. The idea is to keep surprising people.” — RK
