Vaani’s ready for her debut

She’s YRF’s new blue-eyed girl. Vaani Kapoor, who makes her debut with Shuddh Desi Romance, started out working in the hospitality sector and then shifted to modelling. “I modelled because it was good money and I got to shop a lot! But it cannot be a long-term career,” she says.

Several auditions later, she landed the role in SDR. “Maneesh Sharma would call me for a meeting and suddenly ask me to enact some scene. When I was finally selected, it was a huge relief,” Vaani recounts.
Her family’s support has meant a lot, she adds. “During the shoot I would often feel that I’m not looking good or I haven’t performed well but my family would reprimand me saying that I should be happy I’m getting to debut with Yash Raj Films, rather than cribbing all the time.”
