Varun’s male fan base concerns his father
He is the king of comedy and his son is being touted as one of the most promising Next-gen actors. However, while David is happy with his son’s success, he remains slightly concerned about Varun’s growing popularity with men.
The director was overheard talking to a colleague about his son’s male sex symbol image. “Earlier it was John Abraham who was tagged as the first ever male sex symbol in the industry. And now Varun seems to follow suit,” says an insider. Apparently, Dhawan thought that Varun’s popularity would eventually put him in the bracket of Salman Khan in his younger days. But as it turns out, Varun seems to have more male fans than female ones. There are men who walk up to him and confess how much they admire him. While films try to break new ground time and again, society continues to remain conservative at large. Hence it is hardly surprising that Varun’s family is not too happy with his loyal male fan following.
