Varun to step into Akshay’s shoes

Taking inspiration from Akshay Kumar, newcomer Varun Dhawan has been working on building an action-hero image. The young star, who is enjoying his popularity after the success of his debut film, is going all out to work on a new avatar.
“I’ve been extremely lucky to have achieved success early on but I can’t risk it all by succumbing to monotony,” says Varun. The buzz is that Varun is gearing up for some daredevil stunts in Ekta Kapoor’s film that is being directed by his father David Dhawan. He will also receive formal training in martial arts. “I’ve watched Akshay’s perfection in performing stunts and that comes because of martial arts,” he says, adding, “My target is to do my own stunts with conviction and perfection. Just like my senior actors, I want to gain respect for giving 100 per cent to my stunts,” says Varun, who is greatly inspired by the original khiladi.
