A very prosperous New Year for Kat

So what if Kareena Kapoor’s basking in the queen bee spotlight? Our very own Katrina Kaif is more than ready to prove that she’s just as good as Bebo when it comes to the question of being the most successful actress in B’town. And Kat’s latest achievement? Bagging a `5 crore deal to perform on New Year’s Eve at a select do.
Our sources tell us that Kat has been offered some pretty big moolah to perform at December 31 events. But Ms Kaif has held back so far. Not even the offer of a whopping `5 crore for one performance would budge our Kat from her stand. “Kat has had one of the most popular dance numbers ever in Sheila Ki Jawani. Now, with her much-hyped Moongda number in Agneepath, Kat looks set to repeat the feat in 2012 as well. No wonder organisers are queuing up to sign Kat on for New Year bashes. And of course, they’re all willing to pay any price to have the privilege of signing on Katrina,” a trade source told us.
As of now, none of the offers have been tempting enough for Katrina to say “yes”. “Just as she’s very selective about her work, she’s also very selective about the brands and events she’s associated with,” an aide of the actress said. “Money is never the deciding criterion for Kat.”
We must say, Kat has certainly become far more selective than she was in her debutante days (remember the fiasco that was Boom?). Now, only the most plum projects and roles meet with her approval. So who will finally bell the Kat? It’s anyone’s guess as of now!

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
