Vidya’s dirt spreads

The Dirty Picture isn’t done yet. It’s been only a few days since Vidya Balan bagged the honours for the best actress and it’s already time to celebrate again, as her film completes 50 days today. And to hail the film’s stupendous success, it is being released all over again to meet the demands of exhibitors and distributors.
Our source from Balaji Films says, “The film has already netted over `80 crores just from India and is still very much in demand. Even though Players, Don 2 and Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl have been released since then, it is our film that has managed best run for so many weeks.”
Vidya, on her part, is only too pleased that she won’t have to go through the promotional drill all over again. “Vidya has done enough for the film already, so that won’t be needed,” says Girish Johar, head, distribution and acquisition at Balaji. Insiders have further confirmed an increase in the number of shows, which could well make it the top grosser of the weekend once again, despite current releases.
So guess Vidya can afford not to worry this time. She’d rather focus on a new kahaani altogether.
