Vikram turns actor in his own production

Most actors feel going behind the camera is a natural progression of their career. In the past, veteran actors like Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand successfully sustained their careers as directors. But very rarely does one see a director turning an actor. We hear Vikram Bhatt will be playing a pivotal role in his next production Bhaag Johnny, director by Shivam Nair.

We asked him how he decided to zero down on this particular film. He said, “Yes I am playing a role in the film. Initially I had reservations about acting, but Shivam managed to convince me. I play the role of genie — that’s all I can divulge at the moment.”
Word is that Karan Johar may also do a cameo in a film. Are we heading towards a new trend here?
