Viveik hones his culinary skills
After all the talk of Akshay Kumar honing his culinary skills for a reality show, it is now Viveik Oberoi’s turn to do the same for his forthcoming film Bloody Paki. The film deals with racial abuse and cultural segregation. Apparently, permission to shoot the film in the UK was denied.
The film is inspired by the true story of a Punjabi immigrant, who is incidentally a friend of Mani Ratnam. Starting from scratch, he went on to become one of the biggest business tycoons in the UK and was knighted by the Queen for his achievements. The film follows his journey as he battled racial bias and even endured a jail term. Produced by Mani Ratnam, the film is being directed by Siva — who has assisted Mani for over 12 years.
Viveik will reportedly play a restaurateur who owns a chain of Indian hotels across the UK, which is why he is learning how to cook. He will even spend some time with the person on whom the film is based to prepare for the role.
Initial reports said that Chitrangada Singh would play the lead opposite Viveik, but Genelia D’Souza has now been finalised for the part. In the meantime, Viveik is looking forward to his next release: Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakta Charitra, which is being shot in Mumbai.
