Vivek loses his composure
Vivek Oberoi has finally managed to earn a mention alongside the big Khans. Not in terms of his box office collection, but for an angry run-in with the junta. Barely a week after Shah Rukh Khan slapped director Shirish Kunder, Vivek also raised his hands on a journalist.
At a recent political rally in Uttar Pradesh, Vivek Oberoi was campaigning for Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Jayant Chaudhary, one whose name has been associated with a big scam. When a journalist quizzed him on this topic, Vivek lost his cool completely, and got into fisticuffs with the local media.
“Vivek was in a grumpy mood right from the time they started the rally, and this question ticked him off,” says an eyewitness. Whether he lost his cool because he seriously wanted to defend Jayant — the son of Union Civil Aviation minister Ajit Singh — or whether there was something more than what met the eye is a question only Vivek himself can answer. But nothing could have justified the manner in which he manhandled the poor journalist.
“That kind of violence was completely uncalled for. When a celebrity is asked a personal question, he/she can choose to not answer it. But misbehaving in public will only ensure negative publicity,” the eyewitness adds.
Now given his numerous run-ins of the unpleasant nature, negative publicity isn’t a term he would be alien with.
