Who’ll land 2 States role?

The big news of this week has been Imran Khan being finalised as the male lead in 2 States, and the clamouring has already begun among top heroines to land the coveted female lead’s spot. And while Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Asin are said to be the names being considered, we hear it could be the latter who lands herself the film.
“The female lead in 2 States had to be a South Indian girl, and that could help Asin have the edge over her rivals. Also, she has the experience of working in films down south. Moreover, the film’s producer Sajid Nadiadwala has had a good experience of working with her and Deepika in Housefull 2,” says a source.
“But having said that, Sajid is being partnered by Karan Johar in the venture, and he’s got a great equation with Deepika as well, so it could work out in her favour. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra too is a name that is associated with the project. While she isn’t a South Indian, she is a capable actress, and played a Maharashtrian character with aplomb in Kaminay and Agneepath, thereby showing her mettle,” another source chips in.
