Who will back down first?
The “understanding” between Aamir Khan and Salman Khan (the two have been very accommodating of each other other’s release dates — most recently, for Dhoom 3 and Dabangg 2) has had an unforeseen effect: Industrywallahs have now asked Hrithik Roshan and Ajay Devgn to take a leaf out of the superstars’ book and adjust the release dates of Agneepath and Tezz respectively. But the “good example” may just not be enough — trade experts have pointed out that more than Hrithik, it is Karan Johar (Agneepath’s producer) Ajay would hate giving way to. No one needs reminding that Ajay isn’t too fond of anyone from the SRK camp. So what happens now?
“This is not sustainable,” says an eminent industry watcher. “These are crucial projects for both Hrithik and Ajay. While Hrithik will have to face inevitable comparisons with the Big B in the original Agneepath, Ajay has the Japanese original of Tezz to live up to. They need to avoid a heads-on clash.”
