Who will take on Ajay in Singham?

Ajay Devgn will enjoy a dream run when his Singham releases next month. Whether through a stroke of luck or thorough planning, there are no other releases that could potentially clash with Singham’s run at the box office — for nearly three weeks.
Says a trade analyst, “When the release date of July 22 was announced for Singham, other filmmakers were a little wary of setting up a clash. However, no one could have imagined that far from there being any overlap, Singham would have an uninterrupted run of three whole weeks! It’s unprecedented.”
The only contender to Singham was Shahid Kapur’s Mausam, but pending post-production work required that its release date be postponed.
With action flicks being the flavour of the season, it might be a wise decision for filmmakers to stay away. Last we heard, Hema Malini was contemplating releasing daughter Esha’s re-launch film Tell Me Oh Khuda at the same time as Singham, though she is yet to take a final call. For what it’s worth, we’d advise strongly against it.
