Why is Aamir not promoting Talaash?

Less than three months remain for the release of this summer’s biggest blockbuster Talaash, and apart from releasing the official trailer, there has been an eerie silence from its makers. Especially considering the film stars Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor, one would have thought they’d be all over the place by now, promoting their film like only Aamir Khan can.
But there could be a strategy even behind this. “Aamir devises an exclusive strategy for every film. For instance, he came up with an extensive campaign that lasted for months for 3 Idiots, while for Dhobi Ghat, he straightaway warned people to not expect quintessential commercial fare. So knowing Aamir, there is sure to be a unique campaign he’s planned for Talaash as well,” says a source.
“It is Aamir’s first mainstream film since 3 Idiots and he would have planned something. Even producers Ritesh Sidhwani-Farhan Akhtar are known for promoting their films in a big way,” says another source.
All we now need to do, then, is to wait.
