Winter full of sequels

Remakes may be the flavour of the season currently, but over the next few months, it will be sequels that will rule the roost. As many as four sequels are already scheduled to release in the last quarter of 2012, and with many more still in production, the number may yet increase. “Be prepared for a lot of ‘familiar’ films this coming winter,” says an industry insider.
Bollywood always releases its biggest films in the last quarter on account of the festive season, and considering the big money that is riding on these sequels, it’s no surprise they are coming together. “Dabangg 2 will see Salman at the peak of his career, while Race 2 has already created a buzz over the Deepika issue. Then there is Aashique 2 from the Bhatts, while there is Shootout At Wadala as well completing the quartet,” a trade expert says.
