5 Satyam accused released
Hyderabad, July 21: Satyam scamsters B. Rama Raju, the brother of Mr Ramalinga Raju, and four others were released on bail from jail on Wednesday.
The Chanchalaguda jail superintendent, Mr Chandr-asekhar, said that the five accused were released after formalities on Wednesday.
They were produced the sureties in the case in the 21 Additional CMM court on Wednesday. Former chief financial officer Vadlamani Srinivas, vice-president (finance) G. Ramakrishna, finance managers Ch Srisailam and Venkatapathi Raju have come out on bail.
With this, only Ramalinga Raju — the prime accused in the Rs 10,000 crore Satyam accounting fraud — continues to be in jail in the biggest corporate scam of the country that broke out on January 7, 2009.
However, Mr Raju has been avoiding proceedings at the special court set up for the case citing health reasons.
