Anil welcome at RIL guest house
Hinting at growing warmth in relations between the Ambani brothers, Anil Ambani stayed at the guest house owned by elder brother Mukesh Amb-ani’s Reliance Industries at Tirumala on his way to the Lord Venkateswara temple on Sunday.
Anil, who trekked his way up the 10-km distance from Tirupati, spent some time at the Sri Krishna Guest House of RIL before heading to the temple for performing rituals. His wife, Tina, too joined him after travelling to Tirumala by road.
Anil, whose group scrapped a non-compete agreement with Mukesh Ambani-led RIL last week, was accompanied by his top executives Mr Satish Seth and Mr J.P. Chalasani.
The scrapping of the non-compete agreement was a demonstration of the Ambani brothers’ intention to buy peace, nearly five years after they parted ways. Four of these five years they had spent battling over a gas supply agreement.
The two sides had also announced last week that they would expeditiously negotiate a gas supply agreement on the lines of the May 7 Supreme Court order.
Tirumala Tirupati Devast-hanams OSD Chinnamgari Ramana said that Anil flew in here from Mumbai late last night and trekked up the hills in about 150 minutes.
After offering prayers at the shrine, which is the country’s richest temple in terms of offerings received from devotees, Anil left for Renigunta airport near here to reuturn to Mumbai, Mr Ramana said.
