Ashok Leyland sales slips 5 % in June
Hinduja Group flagship firm Ashok Leyland on Tuesday reported a 4.63 per cent decline in total commercial vehicle sales to 8,009 units in June, 2011, compared to the same month of the previous year.
The company had sold 8,398 units in the same month of 2010, Ashok Leyland said in a statement.
Domestic sales stood at 6,824 units in June as against 7,497 units in the same month of the previous year, down 8.98 per cent, it added.
Exports, however, increased by 31.52 per cent to 1,185 units last month from 901 units in the year-ago period.
The company also reported a 8.36 per cent fall in total domestic sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles to 6,783 units from 7,402 units in the same month of the previous year.
