Farm and construction equipment major Escorts said that it will widen its railway product offerings to tap the Metro and Monorail segment in India to achieve its targeted turnover of $1 billion by 2012.
Exports from special economic zones (SEZs) grew by 67 per cent year-on-year at Rs 58,756.68 crore in the Q1 of FY11. During April-June 2009-10, exports from SEZs stood at Rs 35,013 crore.
Aventis Pharma said that its net profit declined by 9.97 per cent to Rs 42.4 crore for the second quarter of CY2010, compared to the same period in the previous year. Net sales rose to Rs 271.5 crore.
Whirlpool posted a 38.8 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 64.20 crore for Q1 FY11, over the same period last fiscal. During the period, its total income increased by 40.8 per cent to Rs 879.48 crore.
UTI Asset Management Company said that it plans to spread its loss-making micro-pension business across the country to gain size and profitability, said CMD Mr U.K. Sinha.
