Deora calls fuel dealers for talks
Sept. 12: The petroleum ministry has called the petrol pump owners on Monday for talks as the latter are threatening to go on indefinite strike from September 20 demanding higher commission. “We have received an invitation from the petroleum ministry for a meeting to discuss these issues. All the chairmen from the oil PSUs will also be present during the meeting,” said Mr Ajay Bansal, general secretary, Federation of All India Petroleum Traders .
The petrol pump owners are currently getting a fixed commission on the sale of petrol and diesel. However, they are demanding that their commission should be changed from fixed to 5 per cent of the invoice value of the fuel.
Last week, the ministry had marginally increased the commission of the petrol pump owners on the sale of petrol and diesel by around 10 paise per litre. However, the petrol pump owners are saying that there are not satisfied with this hike and want that their commission should be cha-nge to five per cent of the invoice value of the fuel.
