DoT frames norms for MNP

New Delhi, Oct. 31: With the mobile number portability (MNP) due to be rolled out in Haryana on November 25, the telecom department said customers in the state, who wish to change their service provider without change of number, will have to send an SMS from their phone to 1900, reports our correspondent.

Based on this they will get a unique porting code as SMS from the existing service provider. After this, the customer have to apply to the new service provider mentioning the code for the transfer of number. The consumer will pay a maximum of `19 for the transfer, which will be completed in four days.
