Facebook’s growth rate slowing down, particularly in US: Report
Social networking giant Facebook’s growth appears to be slowing down, especially in the United States, according to a report.
A report in the Wall Street Journal, citing data provided by ComScore, said that US visitors to the social media site rose five cent in April to 158 million.
That’s the slowest growth rate since comScore started tracking data in 2008, the report said.
According to the data, users spent more than six hours a month on the site in April, up 16 per cent from the prior year, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.
Still, that's a slower growth rate than the 23 per cent increase in 2011, the report said.
Facebook went public on May 18 in a widely anticipated market debut.
The stock price has, however, slid since then.
Investors have expressed concerns over Facebook's ability to keep increasing revenue and make money from its growing mobile audience.
