Govt could sell another 5% in Neyveli Lignite

Government is considering selling another five per cent stake in lignite miner and power generator Neyveli Lignite Corporation, Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal told reporters on Monday.

"The finance ministry has recently communicated to us we may sell a 5 per cent stake," Jaiswal said.

The government has already sold a 6.4 per cent stake in the company. Shares in the company were up 3.42 per cent to Rs 83.20 by 1.53 pm.
