Kirthiga Reddy to set up FB India

July 15: Social networking site Facebook on Thursday appointed two key officials — Kirthiga Reddy and Manoj Varghese — for launching its India operations in Hyderabad. The officials are responsible for establishing a local team for supporting the company’s global operations. The Hyderabad office will support 400 million users of Facebook worldwide besides its advertisers and developers.

As the director of online operations, Ms Reddy will the head of the Indian operations. She will be responsible for supporting the company’s growing number of users, advertisers and developers worldwide and reach out to new customers locally and internationally.

Mr Varghese, the director of user operations, will build a user support team to serve Facebook users. Facebook also intends to expand its management team in India, adding leadership that will specialise in spearheading local programs and building partner relationships.
