Maruti Suzuki Q4 profit flat at Rs.660 crores
Maruti Suzuki, India's largest car maker, said on Monday its profit rose marginally by half a percent to 659.9 crores (Rs.6,599 million) in the fourth quarter of 2010-11.
The company's total income grew 19.19 per cent at 10,212.1 crores in January-March 2011 quarter, Maruti Suzuki said in a statement. For the whole financial year 2010-11, the company posted a net profit of 2,288.6 crores, which is 8.4 per cent lower than its profit in 2010.
“The company’s profit was impacted by adverse currency movement, particularly on exports, higher commodity prices and new model launches," a statement said. Maruti Suzuki was trading 1.56 per cent higher at 1,327 at the Bombay Stock Exchange in the closing hour of trading on Monday.
