Microsoft's search engine Bing grabs market share from Google
Software giant Microsoft's search engine Bing has increased its share of the search market at the expense of Google, according to a new report.
Experian Hitwise, an online data measurement company however revealed, that Google is still the most popular search engine, accounting for 65 percent of the US market.
The latest data covering May 2012, however, said that the search giant's share decreased on the year by five per cent from 68.1 percent.
It also revealed that Bing's share increased by five per cent during the same period, rising to 28.1 percent from 26.79 percent last May, the Telegraph reports.
According to the report, Yahoo 's search engine, which has fused business operations with Microsoft, accounts for 14.9 percent of the share.
Experian Hitwise bases its monthly search share reports on a sample of ten million web users' behaviour.
The figures, however, do not include mobile search data.
