M&M April sales up 27 pc
Auto-maker Mahindra & Mahindra on Tuesday reported 27 per cent jump in sales at 40,719 units for April, 2012.
The company had sold 32,090 units in the same month last year, M&M said in a statement. In the domestic market, the company registered 29 per cent rise in sales to 39,299 units, compared to 30,349 units in the year-ago period, it said.
Total sales of passenger vehicles, including Scorpio, XUV500, Xylo, Bolero and Verito were 20,558 units last month, as against 15,459 units in April 2011, up 33 per cent.
The company, however, said sales of its three-wheelers stood at 4,659 units, up from 4,411 units during the same month last year.
Sales of the company's Gio and Maxximo mini-trucks and other four-wheeler commercial vehicles increased to 13,054 units from 9,538 units in the year-ago period, the statement said.
M&M's exports declined to 1,420 units during the month from 1,741 units in April 2011.
