Satyam gets Nissan deal
Mahindra Satyam has bagged a $40 million contract from a global auto major for a five-year period. This is one of the major contracts that the Hyderabad-based company had won in the recent times.
According to sources, the deal involves application maintenance and operation services for Japanese auto giant Nissan. “The contract is for three years till 2013. But the company can extend the contract for two more years,” the source said.
A Satyam spokesperson, however, refused to comment.
The company also manages all its mission critical business application in its key North American market.
Though the company has managed to hold onto its client base despite its founder, Mr B. Ramalinga Raju’s Rs 8,000 crore accounting fraud, it has started attracting new clients after it was acquired by Mahindra and Mahindra group firm TechMahindra.
Satyam, once the fourth largest IT services company in the country, had recently announced its plans to recruit around 4,000 people in the wake of new orders.
