Sofuoglu clinches Imoha round

Mahi Racing Team India rider Kenan Sofuoglu delivered a strong performance en route to victory in the shortened seventh leg of the World Supersport Championship in Imoha, Italy, on Sunday. Sofuoglu, who secured a second place on the grid in the qualifying round on Saturday, took the lead from the then-leader Sam Lowes on the first turn itself and kept him at bay till the chequered flag was waved, winning by three seconds.
Even an oil spill on the track could not stop defending champion Sofuoglu from taking the top honours as stewards stopped the race after incidents of slipping with 14th laps remaining.

Lahiri triumphs in playoff

Anirban Lahiri of Bengaluru gave himself a birthday present a day in advance when he edged past Delhi’s Shamim Khan in a playoff to win the PGTI Players Championship at the Oxford Golf & Country Club in Pune on Saturday.
After the end of the 72 holes, the two golfers were tied at a total of 10-under-278 and Lahiri clinched the title with a birdie in the playoff hole against Khan’s par effort.
