Impersonation in TN worries EC
Keen to win the elections at any cost, political parties have been busy to not let even a single vote out of their hands, even if the voters were not around.
Despite the EC’s stringent measures, intelligent party cadres are said to have garnered votes for their parties through impersonation. Though no official complaint has reached the EC, poll officials are certainly taking a closer look.
Webcam on every counting table
In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Election Commission (EC) will have a web camera along with a laptop on each and every table where electronic voting machines (EVMs) will be placed for counting on May 13. It will help agents of political parties to know the number of votes counted at the end of each and every round.
Madurai poll may be countermanded: EC

4-layered security to protect EVMs in TN
15: State chief electoral officer Praveen Kumar on Friday said 27 companies of the Central paramilitary forces will be positioned at the inner tier — near the doors — of the three-layer security provided for strong rooms where the EVMs are stored. The other two layers will be guarded by TN special police and armed reserve police to ensure safety of the EVMs kept in 96 sealed rooms till May 13.
