The first time I saw Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was when he was chief minister of Rajasthan. I saw him from the Press Gallery of the old Vidhan Sabha, a stone’s throw from Jaipur’s famous Hawa Mahal. He spoke for more than an hour without pause or interruption. A few days later I met him at Jodhpur House in Delhi.
