In one frame, the yellow-white spring tulips gaze at the vast, limitless bright blue firmament overhead in Geilo (Norway). In the other, a female blackbuck scampers away from the camera lens in Vetnoi, (Orissa).

Understanding human values through charkha

At a time when the world is being ravaged by wars, hunger, poverty and greed for money and power, it is easy to forget the principles of ahimsa that the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, so passionately believed in.

Mapping the myths and stories of roads now changed forever

It is a big day for me today and I am super excited — almost as excited as I am on my happy birthday! Bengal’s vibrant art leaves behind a lingering flavour

A=1.jpg

If anyone were to ask me two things that endear me to Bengal, without doubt it would be the to-die-for detectable mishti or mithai like sandesh, rosogullas, mishti doi (all under one sub-head) and the other without doubt is the contemporary and traditional art from the state.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
